Contract Review

Contract review is a practice of reading and understanding a contract, usually line-byline:

Individuals and businesses work with contracts everyday for their personal and professional dealings.  It always helps to have an attorney look over a contract and explain its meaning and inform you of your contractual obligations and risk. This work can be time consuming and detailed but helps to ensure that the contract meets the legal requirements to be binding.

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Basic Contract Review: A basic contract review involves review the contract, answering any high-level questions and pointing out areas that may need extra attention or revisions.
  • Contract Review with Edits: A contract review with edits is more comprehensive because the lawyer will look over the contract, highlight potential problem areas and make suggested edits. This is also known as "redlining" and can help parties identify specific areas that may need to be changed.
  • Contract Review with Negotiation: A contract review with negotiation includes the review, redlines and negotiations of the terms with the other party.
